This doesn't mean your 7-year-old will be leaving with braces on their teeth. There are actually three possible outcomes from an early evaluation: no treatment needed right now, a "monitor and watch" plan as teeth develop, or a recommendation for early interceptive treatment. All three outcomes are valuable and all three are best caught early.

If your child is in that "watch and wait" phase, summer is a perfect time to check in, take updated X-rays and confirm their development is on track before another school year passes.
